Welcome

Hello !
You have found the web site for Christopher Harding, a researcher and writer based in Mid Wales and currently also a Professor of Law at Aberystwyth University. I have spent a good number of years working as an academic – teaching, carrying out research, publishing, being involved in different aspects of the delivery of higher education, and meeting many people along the way. This web site contains information about both my past and continuing research activities in my specialist areas of Law and Criminology. It also contains information about my other writing and creative activities, some past but most of it present and ongoing. I would like to encourage visitors to these various and varied web pages in the hope that they will find there much that is interesting and engaging, and even enlightening and amusing.

The two main substantive fields within the site are, then, ‘Research’ and ‘Creative’, each with a menu of main sections, and each of these containing a number of pages. Another field contains a list of ‘Associates’, in research and more creative work, who may often be referred to in various pages. The ‘News Box’ field simply tells the reader about recent or imminent events, developments or activities of my own, or sometimes of associates. New readers might also find the page ‘Websites’, to be found under ‘Creative: The Band Plays On’, informative as a kind of introduction to the site as a whole.

It may have started mainly with Law and Criminology but it has led to much more, and there are so many different ways in which to write about, talk about and perform these subjects.

Do you know, Harding, you have great gifts, you could really go places. But you have this underlying obstinate attitude.

Well, I can't help the shape I'm in,
Ain't pretty, can't sing and my legs are thin.

Oh well.
